What is a binding estimate?
This guarantees the exact cost of the move based on any services requested or deemed necessary at the time of the estimate. Additional services that are requested or required such as shuttle service, additional packing or adding items will be added to the cost of the estimate.

How will my movers know which items to take and which ones should be left?
Make sure you clearly indicate to your packers and movers which exactly which items should be moved and which should stay behind. Mark all boxes appropriately and if possible, designate a separate area for items that should stay.

Does a moving company need to be licensed?
Moving companies are actually registered. This means the federal government has issued them a certificate of authority that allows them to move household goods in any of the 50 states. Local moving companies may also be registered with the US Department of Transportation to move interstate shipments within certain geographical areas.

What is freight service?
Freight service is cheaper than a full-service move because movers transport your items to your destination and leave them at the doorstep of your new home. All your items must be boxed in advance, and movers won’t wrap individual pieces of furniture.

What is shuttle service?
This refers to the use of a smaller vehicle to provide access to residences when movers can’t use their regular large moving equipment. This may occur due to steep, narrow or winding driveways, blocked access due to trees or height or weight restrictions on bridges or overpasses.

Can I still move in poor weather?
Yes, professional movers are prepared to move in almost any condition including sleet, snow or rain. Just make sure you clear the driveway beforehand if you are moving in snowy conditions.
